Understanding your child’s academic growth through the MAP assessment. Students will take Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) reading and math assessments after the winter break from Jan. 11-27, and MAP results will help you and your child’s teachers understand your child’s academic growth so far this year. The results also help your child’s school team provide the support your child needs to be successful.

You can help your child prepare for the language portion of the test by:

  • Talking to your child and encouraging them to join in on conversations during family activities;
  • Having your child use a journal so they can practice writing;
  • Helping your child write a letter to a friend or family member;
  • Selecting a word of the week, and encouraging your child to use the new word throughout the week;
  • Planning a special snack or meal, and having your child write the menu.
  • After finishing a chapter in a book or a magazine article, having your child explain their favorite event.

The 2023-2024 enrollment season opens on Jan. 4, 2023! As we approach 2023, it’s time to start thinking about what the next school year holds for your child. Enrollment opens January 4, 2023 and we’ll walk you through every step with information sessions, Enrollment Expo Days and individual enrollment assistance. You should complete the enrollment application if your student:

  • Wants to enroll in a neighborhood school that is not their home school.
  • Is currently on a transfer at any district school who want to attend another school.
  • Wants to enroll in any magnet school.
  • Lives outside of district boundaries who wishes to attend district school.
  • Lives within district boundaries but does not currently attend district schools (i.e. private school or home school students).
  • Is in 5th or 6th grade looking for middle school options that may or may not include their neighborhood schools
  • Is in 8th grade looking for high school options that may or may not include their neighborhood schools.
  • Wants to enroll in Tulsa Virtual Academy (current Tulsa Virtual Academy students do not need to reapply, unless they are transitioning from 5th to 6th grade or from 8th to 9th grade)
  • Will be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1 and want to attend pre-kindergarten.
