Tulsa Public Schools has very talented students throughout the district, and it is constantly placed on display. Evaristo Galan has been selected to compete in a prestigious art competition in Springfield, Missouri.
Tulsa Public Schools provides rich performing and visual arts experiences to all of our students, and one of our student-artists is being recognized at the regional level!
Tulsa MET High School junior Evaristo Galan was selected to compete in the Best of the Midwest High School Competitive Exhibition in Springfield, Missouri. Evaristo's clay sculpture will be shown alongside work from 30 other students from 13 different states.
"I don't fully understand it yet, but it feels really good," Evaristo said. "I never thought something I created would get in a competition. It's very inspiring."
Evaristo is grateful to his art teacher Jill Hammer for motivating and encouraging him.
Good luck Evaristo, the Tulsa Public Schools family is rooting for you!
