Inspire the Swan Principal Butler
Here at Tulsa Met we have had the pleasure of building and creating the community garden on our school grounds. A new addition has been the water feature and pollination with beautiful flowers! Students participated in building and helping to maintain for donation based activities in the Tulsa area.
- Our garden originally began with an internship that lead us to a grant providing the funds to assist in development.
- Multiple organizations donated time and efforts to make this a reality for us including Home Depot and hosting a United Way 'Day of Caring'.
- Our upper grade level students typically volunteer throughout the school year, watering, planting and disposing of onsite compost to the outdoor compost storage.
During our 'Day of Caring', we gained multiple items of those being an area paved for outdoor seating and beautiful vegetation supplied throughout the school grounds.
- Students not only gave back, but helped to put their two cents forward in design and efforts with staff members and United Way volunteers to make this outdoor area a long-lasting memory for future classes to come!
2018-2019 swan clubs
Stay tuned for the coming 2018-2019 school year for our new club names and subjects. Our teachers will participate as a mentor-role in each club, meeting once a week with students that are interested in those subject-areas.
